| 英文描述 | Masses of fibrous tissue and bone can appear in the muscle, tendons, ligaments, fascia, aponeuroses and skin. A boar had 34 of 115 offspring affected. Signs started at 2-6 mos. of age. A similar syndrome has been seen in cats, with radiopacities seen in affected muscles. Localized and generalized lesion were reported in dogs, and in one series of cases coxofemoral lesions led to hind limb lamenes and subluxation of the coxofemoral joint. Intercostal muscle involvement can lead to respiratory distress. Myositis ossificans involves localized areas of muscle, while fibrodysplasia ossificans is multicentric and does not arise from muscle histologically. Dx by histology. |
