| 英文描述 | Seen in Europe, Canada and Australia. From 2-3 months of age pigs show a marked asymmetry of the hind quarters due to atrophy of one hind leg. The cause is unknown, but could be due to heredity or trauma to the atrophied limb such as that due to injection. Dx by signs. Although the condition is due to atrophy of the smaller hind leg, it could be confused with swelling of the normal leg. Despite the asymmetry of the limbs gait is only mildly affected if at all. In some cases this problem may resolve on its own. |
