| 英文描述 | An inbred litter of piglets was described which had a congenital ascorbic acid, vitamin C, deficiency. Signs of scurvey were seen at 2-3 weeks after weaning, and there were only traces of ascorbic acid in the blood. Liver microsomes from affected piglets were unable to synthesize ascorbic acid in vitro. May be inherited as an autosomal recessive. Dx by vitamin C levels, and response to treatment. There is pain and swelling of the limb joints. |
