| 中文描述 | 進行性無熱局部麻痺症狀，在巨觀及微觀的情形下證明，是因為豬罹患對稱性脊髓灰質炎。報告指出有些農場有爆發這種疾病。豬隻罹病後沒死仍需要持續的觀察。受影響的動物飲食及體組織有高濃度的鋅，繁殖期需將飲食鋅濃度控制在少於20ppm以下。診斷方式可用組織病理學對脊椎神經及飲食和組織中鋅進行分析。可能會因為無法呼吸導致死亡。 |

| 英文描述 | A progressive afebrile paretic condition characterized by gross and microscopic evidence of focal, symmetrical poliomyelomalacia has been seen in pigs. Outbreaks have been reported from some farms. Pigs that do not die may remain bright and alert. Has been associated with high selenium levels in feed and tissues of affected animals, and was reproduced by feeding rations with as little as 20 ppm Se in the diet and by experimental administration of selenium. Dx by histopathology of the spinal cord and dietary and tissue selenium analysis. Death may be due to respiratory failure. |
