| 英文描述 | Acute heart failure in young pigs, commonly known as 'mulberry heart disease', is generally associated with deficiencies of vitamin E and selenium in the diet. Sporadic deaths due to mulberry heart disease have occurred in pigs with normal vitamin E and selenium status; this has been observed in rapidly growing pigs as young as 2 weeks of age. There may be abnormal metabolism of vitamin E in the latter group. Dx at necropsy; signs include myocardial hemorrhage, hydropericardium, pulmonary edema, myocardial capillary microthrombosis, fibrinoid degeneration of arterioles, hemorrhage, and necrosis and mineralization of cardiocytes. |
