| 中文描述 | 一群小豬吃了受污染的小麥會有致死性、顫抖、神經失調，症狀開始再時日後四天左右，大約兩到四天便會死亡。經過檢驗排除了其他可能的黴菌毒素，並藉由實驗小豬的觀察確定為膜黴素（tunicamycin-like）中毒，此毒素可能是由棒狀桿菌屬 ( CORYNEBACTERIUM ) 的細菌製造的，因為在感染的小麥中有發現此細菌。此外有另一種相同並正式由黑麥草所造成的腳步蹣跚 ( ryegrass staggers ) 。藉由鑑定此毒素來驗證。 |

| 英文描述 | A group of pigs fed water-damaged wheat developed a fatal, tremorgenic, nervous disorder, with signs starting 4 days after this became the sole feed. In those dying, signs lasted 2-4 days before death occurred. After ruling out other mycotoxins and reproducing the condition by feeding the damaged wheat to experimental pigs it was shown that the wheat contained the toxin tunicamycin, which was probably produced by a CORYNEBACTERIUM found on the damaged wheat. A similar agent is involved in the disease 'ryegrass staggers.' Dx by identification of the toxin. |
