| 中文描述 | 貓儘管有大量的胰島素但是仍舊有出現糖尿病的案例.在血液中會出現大量的生長賀爾蒙,有的貓會出現肢端肥大症,會出現腹部變大,變大的頭部和手掌腳掌,並且在下顎會有凸出物(凸
頷).診斷藉由大量的胰島素應該會造成較低的血糖,以及生長賀爾蒙的測定.原因可能是腦下垂體腫瘤.短期的癒後都比較好.但是幾乎所有的案例最後都因為併發症而死亡,如心臟病,中樞神經的壓迫,和腎衰竭. |

| 英文描述 | Cats have been described which had diabetes despite high blood insulin levels. There was a marked increase in plasma growth hormone, and some cats had features of acromegaly, such as a heavy general appearance, enlarged abdomen, large head and paws, and protrusion of the mandible (prognathia inferior). Dx by excessive insulin levels required to lower blood glucose and plasma growth hormone assays. Caused by a pituitary tumor. The short-term prognosis is good, but all patients eventually die from complications of the disease such as heart failure, central nervous system compression, or renal failure. |
