| 英文描述 | Hot spots are caused by self-induced trauma as the animal attempts to alleviate pain or itch. Underlying causes include ectoparasites, allergic conditions, foreign bodies, psychoses, irritants, inflammatory conditions, and musculoskeletal disorders. Flea allergy is the most common cause. Lesions are red, moist, alopecic areas with a proteinaceous exudate and erythematous halo. Location is near the site of primary irritation, commonly on the rump. Dogs with a dense undercoat, i.e. Collies, Labrador Retrievers, German Shepherds and St. Bernards are predisposed. Dx by typical history and appearance. Almost unknown in cats, but have been described. |
