| 英文描述 | Progressive retinal atrophy can cause progressive visual loss over a period of months or years. The age of onset and rate of progression can vary with the different forms of the disease. Inherited in many breeds of dogs and in some breeds of cat. In the early stages in some breeds the rod cells are primarily affected leading to night blindness; cone cells are primarily affected in other cases, causing day blindness. Dx by signs, ERG, progressive course, and breed. Cataracts often develop in dogs. |
