| 英文描述 | This is a rare inherited disease of the dog and cat characterized by fragility and hyperextensibility of the skin due to defective collagen formation. There is a predisposition to lacerations, and the animal may develop multiple scars. Involvement of the joint capsules and ligaments can lead to hyperextensibility and laxity of joints, with a flatfooted, stiff gait. Dx is based on signs; histology, EM studies and biochemical analysis are also used. There is no treatment other than prompt treatment of wounds and protection from injury. There is a report of ocular disease (lens luxation, cataract and corneal edema) in a dog with this syndrome, but ocular signs are not reported in cats. |
