| 英文描述 | This is primarily a disease of cats, but it has been produced experimentally in dogs. Ingestion of excessive amounts of vitamin A causes proliferation of subperiosteal bone. It may also sensitize the periosteum to the effects of trauma. Changes appear to be independent of Ca and P levels. Some changes are reversible. Liver diets or supplements are common sources of vitamin A. Dx is by signs and history. |
