| 英文描述 | Infection with the trematode PARAGONIMUS KELLICOTI or P. WESTERMANI occurs when infected crayfish or crabs are eaten. The parasite migrates to the thorax and develops to adult stage in the bronchioles. Infection is higher in mink raising areas, midwest and southeastern U.S. Dx by fecal exam, tracheal wash or fine needle aspiration of pulmonary granulomas to identify fluke eggs, and detection of cystic structures on thoracic radiology. Pneumothorax may be a complication. |
