| 英文描述 | In dogs, pyoderma usually presents as a deep folliculitis and furunculosis that appears as clusters of pustules and fistulas. May appear on any body part, but is most common on the rump and lateral thigh, chest, and legs. Often associated with generalized demodidicosis. A special form of this disease called 'German Shepherd cellulitis' is found in middle-aged German Shepherds, and may be associated with hypothyroidism or a neutrophil/lymphocyte dysfunction. There may be a genetic tendency for German Shepherds to develop pyoderma, inherited as an autosomal recessive trait. Pyoderma also occurs in cats, but is not common. Dx by signs, culture (STAPHYLOCOCCUS INTERMEDIUS is a common isolate), histopathology. |
