| 英文描述 | Alpha-Mannosidosis, a disease characterized by by deficiency of alpha- mannosidase, has been described in cats. It is inherited in Persian cats, and is also reported in Domestic Short-haired and Domestic Long-haired cats. At necropsy there is widespread vacuolation of the nervous system and liver. There is heterogeneity in the clinical presentation of affected animals. In Persian kittens there has been stillbirths and neonatal death; no affected kitten survived to 6 months. In Domestic Short-haired and Long-haired kittens the onset of signs occurs later, there is a longer clinical course, and some of the signs seen in the Persians are not present. Dx confimed by measuring blood mannosidase levels. Vacuolation of lymphocytes may be seen. |
