| 英文描述 | Benzyl alcohol is used as a preservative in many solutions for parenteral administration, and when given in large amounts can be toxic for cats because it cannot be adequately conjugated by the glucuronal transferase system. The toxic metabolite benzoic acid causes the clinical signs. 392 mg/kg of benzyl alcohol given in two doses 10 hours apart has caused signs. |
