| 英文描述 | Generalized steatitis has been seen in foals of several types, including Thoroughbreds, ponys and donkeys. There is also on report of this disease in an adult pony. The major sign is the development of subcutaneous masses and plaques, especially over the dorsal and lateral body and the lower limbs. Thickening and hardening of the ligamentum nuchae, with tenderness in some cases was described. Cause unknown, but most authors associate this syndrome with vitamin E and/or selenium deficiency. Dx by signs and necropsy. Hyaline degeneration sometimes seen at histology. |
