| 英文描述 | A 6-month-old foal had hypertrophy and hypertonicity of the semitendinosus, semimembranosus, and glutei muscles. There were myotonic discharges on electromyography; serum activity of creatine phosphokinase was normal. There was no response to treatment with vitamin E and selenium. Muscle biopsies showed changes resembling those in human muscular dystrophy; figures showing those changes are in the article by Sarli et al. The cause is unknown. |
