| 英文描述 | Uterine torsion in mares occurs both during advanced pregnancy and at the time of foaling. Torsions may account for 5-10% of serious cases of dystocia in mares. Severe colic is the most common sign. Can twist in either direction, with the majority twisted 360 degrees or more. Dx by palpation, with the broad ligament indicating the direction of torsion. When the uterus ruptures the fetus may be palpable outside the uterus. Chronic uterine torsion has been described. |
