| 英文描述 | Some mares develop intermittent bleeding from the vulva due to prominent varicosed veins in the dorsal vulvovaginal area. Generally a minor problem but can be of concern to the owner. Dx by visual exam after parting the vulvar lips or vaginoscopy. The lesions may appear as pedunculated, ulcerated masses. In some cases anesthesia and positioning the mare in dorsal recumbency may be needed for visualization of these veins. Bleeding may occur in mare in advanced pregnancy, and must be differentiated from the bleeding of premature separation of the placenta in such cases. Mares can also develop bleeding from varicies with thrombosis of the cervix and uterus. |
