| 英文描述 | Fasting of horses and ponies can induce a hyperbilirubinemia that leads to clinical icterus. Within 15 hours the increase is significant, and levels off in 60-72 hours. Dx by history of fasting and exclusion of other causes of icterus. Seems to be due to decreased hepatic uptake, not decreased conjugation of bilirubin. |
