| 英文描述 | Bilateral swellings of the parotid salivary glands are fairly common in horses, and can be mistaken for guttural pouch disease or enlargement of lymph nodes. The swelling is firm and usually painless; histology on some cases has shown no signs of inflammation. Most common in the spring, but can be seen year-round in some horses, and the change in size can become permanent. Can occur sporadically or as an outbreak, and there has been an association with turn out to pasture. The swelling can change size from day-to-day. |
