| 英文描述 | The sudden onset of signs of cardiovascular failure in horses is in rare cases due to rupture of the chordae tendinae of the mitral valves. Clinical signs are consistent with sudden mitral insufficiency, including a widespread pansystolic murmur and pulmonary edema, with severe respiratory signs. Echocardiography may assist in the diagnosis, but the prognosis appears to be hopeless. Affected animals could survive for weeks. |
