| 英文描述 | Cerebellar abiotrophy has been described in young Arabian, part-Arabian, Oldenberg, and American Miniature horses and in Gotland ponies. Signs can be present at birth, but may not be noticed until a few months of age. Progressive. Necropsy shows loss of Purkinje cells and granular cells in the cerebellum. Animals are ataxic but strong. Signs in the forelimbs are often worse than those in the rear limbs. There is no treatment, but the progression of signs might stop in some cases, with a slow, progressive improvement as the horse reaches maturity. |
