| 英文描述 | Atrial fibrillation has been described as the most important symptomatic arrhythmia in horses. Found in otherwise normal horses or with other signs. Evidence of underlying morphologic heart disease is evident in many cases, particularly when there is congestive heart failure or a loud cardiac murmur. A very irregular heart beat is strong evidence of atrial fibrillation. Dx by ECG, in which there are irregularly spaced QRS-T complexes and an absence of P waves, which are replaced by f waves. Most have a normal resting heart rate. The majority of cases seen in practice are persistent. Paroxysmal, transient atrial fibrillation has been seen in horses following racing, and may be a cause of sudden decrease in racing performance. Transient paroxysmal atrial fibrillation has also been seen in the newborn foal. |
