| 英文描述 | A horse with chronic colic had a diverticulum of the distal portion of the ileum between layers of the mesentery discovered at surgery. Complete surgical bypass of the diverticulum by side-to-side ileocecostomy led to apparent resolution of the colic. Diverticula of the duodenum had been associated with diarrhea and weight loss and with sudden death (due to rupture) in other horses (Madison et al.). Diverticulum of of the jejunum as associated with mild recurring colic (Cook et al.). Diagnosis and treatment are by surgery. |
