| 英文描述 | The endocardium and heart valves of all species can be infected by bacteria. STREPTOCOCCI and PASTEURELLA/ACTINOBACILLUS are the most common cause in horses, but other organisms can be involved. Dx is difficult, but fever, murmur and elevated white count or fibrinogen are consistent with the diagnosis; echocardiography is a useful aid. Blood culture can be attempted to identify the organism involved. |
