| 英文描述 | Primary gastric impaction without any known predisposing cause has been seen in horses. In an impaction there is an abnormal accumulation of dry, non-swelling, poorly fermentable ingesta held in the stomach. Secondary gastric impaction has been associated with ragwort (SENECIO JACOBAEA); there may be associated photosensitization. Diagnosis is made at surgery, as signs and physical examination cannot localize the problem, although endoscopy may be of some use in small horses or ponies, and the stomach may be palpated per rectum in some cases. |
