| 英文描述 | Injury to the cornea can be followed by rapid healing of the corneal epithelium, trapping bacteria within the stroma and leading to abscess formation in the cornea. This appears as a yellow-white opacity at varying depths within the corneal stroma; the overlying corneal epithelium is usually intact or has a defect smaller than the underlying stromal abscess. Dx by ophthalmoscopic examination and culture. There is a history of previous corneal injury in most cases but horses have been seen which had a history of recurrent uveitis with no apparent previous corneal injury. Brown stromal discoloration like that in feline stromal sequestration was described in a horse. |
