| 英文描述 | Horses can develop a condition of progressive hoof wall separation, known as white line disease. The separation occurs in the nonpigmented horn at the junction between the stratum medium and laminar horn. The area involved has grey or black dry, crumbly horn material that can easily be picked away with a probe. The affected horse may or may not be lame. The cause of this syndrome is unknown; some feel that there is no need to distinguish between White Line Disease and Chronic Laminitis, as they are very similar or identical conditions. |
