| 英文描述 | Granulomatous enteritis is uncommon; occurs most frequently in Standardbreds 1-5 years of age but older horses and other breeds can be affected. Persistent weight loss and hypoalbuminemia are consistent signs but diarrhea is not always present. Cause unknown. Can often be diagnosed by intestinal or rectal mucosal biopsy. Granulomatous infiltration of the bowel is a diagnostic feature. There is usually a flat carbohydrate absorption curve on an oral absorption test. |
