| 英文描述 | Pheochromocytoma, a tumor of the adrenal medulla, is rare but has been reported to cause clinical signs in horses. The major presenting sign is sweating. Dx by surgery or necropsy, or demonstration of elevated catecholamine levels. In one case there was metastasis to the spinal canal, causing cord compression. Rupture of a pheochromocytoma caused colic in a mare and identification of retroperitoneal swelling on palpation per rectum might indicate a ruptured pheochromocytoma (Johnson et al.). Hyperglycemia, neutrophilia and lymphopenia are common findings. |
