| 英文描述 | In torsion or volvulus of the equine large colon signs are mild or severe depending on the degree and location of the twist. If there is strangulation the clinical course is rapid with a high fatality rate and prompt surgery is indicated. On rectal examination the large colon is usually grossly distended and can block the pelvis, but in the early stages this may not be palpable. Confirmation of the diagnosis and treatment usually require surgery. |
