| 英文描述 | Muscular hypertrophy of the small intestine is an infrequent cause of intestinal obstruction in horses. Typically there are recurrent episodes of mild to moderate colic. The hypertrophy can be idiopathic or secondary to chronic intestinal stenosis. Tends to affect older horses; in one study the median age was 10 years. Affects males and females with no breed predisposition. In some horses thickened sections of intestine can be palpated per rectum. |
