| 英文描述 | Purpura hemorrhagica is characterized by a vasculitis leading to widespread edema and to hemorrhage of the mucosae and subcutaneous tissue. Can be an uncommon sequel to infection or vaccination, but many cases have no such history. Clinical signs can range from mild to very severe. Most affected horses are over 2 years of age. Blood platelet levels are usually normal. Histology shows an aseptic necrotizing vasculitis. Dx by signs, histology, and exclusion of other causes of vasculitis. |
