| 英文描述 | Congenital edema occurs sporadically in Ayrshire and Ayrshire cross calves, probably inherited as an autosomal recessive. More common in males. Edema is most prominent on the limbs and head region. If severe enough could cause dystocia or abortion. A similar syndrome, with congenital edema most common in the hind limbs, and sometimes in the forelimbs, tail and prepuce, was described in Hereford and Brahman cattle, and test matings of Herefords indicated it was transmitted as an autosomal dominant trait with variable expression and incomplete penetrance. This has also been reported as a sporadic congential problem in sheep or 1 or 2 of a litter in swine and carnivores. Bulldogs have an increased risk of this condition, and it appears to be familial. A syndrome of transient mid-gestational hydrops fetalis identified by ultrasound has been reported in dogs; the condition resolved spontaneously prior to whelping. |
