| 英文描述 | Anticoagulants including Warfarin, Coumafuryl, Diphenacinone, Chlorophacinone, Pindone, Valone, Brodifacoum, and Bromadiolone can cause bleeding disorders in any animal but are most common in dogs, cats and pigs that eat rat poison. Characterized by hemorrhage throughout the body. Dx by identification of toxin in diet. These agents interfere with activation of vitamin K dependent clotting factors. There is a latent period of from 12 to 24 hours between ingestion and the development of signs. Vitamin K1 is the treatment of choice but there is a delay of several hours between K1 administration and cessation of bleeding tendencies. Anticoagulants have been tried in the treatment of some diseases; if given to excess there can be severe bleeding problems and a prolonged prothrombin time. Dx by history and clotting studies. |
