| 英文描述 | Pug dogs between 6 months and 7 years of age and Maltese and Pekingese dogs between 9 months and 4 years of age have developed a chronic necrotizing encephalitis with lesions primarily affecting the cerebrum. In most cases signs, including seizures, progress for 1-6 months until the animal has to be euthanized, but deaths have occurred only a few days after the clinical onset. Necrotizing encephalitis-like disease has also been observed in chihuahua dogs. A similar syndrome has been described in Yorkshire terriers, but in this breed lesions are common in the brain stem as well as the cerebral cortex. CSF often has elevations in protein level and small lymphocytes. At necropsy there is nonsuppurative meningoencephalitis characterized by a marked necrotizing nature. |
